At this year's DEGAM Congress, the "SMOOTH study team" led by Prof. Gensichen and Dr. Konrad Schmid received the "German Research Award for General Practice - Dr. Lothar Beyer Prize" for their work on "GP care after critical illness". Originally developed on the clinical picture of sepsis, the research results enable GPs to provide case management for improved and individualized follow-up care for patients with serious illnesses.
