F3 - Cardiology normal wards

Ward F3 is a normal cardiology ward where patients with the entire spectrum of heart diseases are treated. These include coronary heart disease with percutaneous coronary intervention, structural heart valve defects, heart failure (cardiac insufficiency) and various cardiac arrhythmias. The ward is divided into an A-side and a B-side, which are looked after by separate teams of doctors and nursing staff.

F4 - Normal cardiology wards with monitoring

Ward F4 is a normal cardiology ward with monitoring, where patients with the entire spectrum of heart diseases are treated. These include coronary heart disease with percutaneous coronary intervention, structural heart valve defects, heart failure (cardiac insufficiency) and various cardiac arrhythmias. The ward is divided into an A-side and a B-side, which are looked after by separate teams of doctors and nursing staff. You can find more information about the procedures on the ward here.

F9 - Day ward

Ward F9 is our day ward. Most of our clinic's patients are admitted to this ward at the beginning and are seen by doctors and nurses. Depending on the condition, patients can be discharged in the evening (e.g. after cardiac catheterization without stent implantation, cardioversion for atrial fibrillation or pacemaker replacement). In the case of more complex illnesses, patients are transferred to the normal wards after the initial examinations in the evening (e.g. cardiac catheter examinations with stent implantation, preparation for heart valve surgery). Furthermore, the majority of outpatient cardiology diagnostics (coronary CT, cardio-MRI and ultrasound of the heart) are carried out on the ward.

F0 - Cardiology monitoring ward/chest pain unit

Ward F0 is the cardiology monitoring ward. Patients with more serious cardiological conditions are treated here. In addition, patients with acute heart attacks (Chest Pain Unit) and severe heart failure (Heart Failure Unit) are cared for here and after more complex procedures (e.g. treatment of structural heart valve defects or complex coronary interventions). There is also the option of cardiovascular support with medication.

ITS3 - Cardiology intensive care unit

The internal intensive care unit ITS3 is located in the new operating center (OPZ) and is a cardiology focus ward. It has a total of 8 beds, all of which are equipped with integrated invasive ventilation facilities. Our team provides medicine at the highest level around the clock. Every year, over 800 patients with acute, severe conditions (e.g. heart attack, cardiogenic shock) are treated. Patients are also monitored following more complex cardiology procedures (e.g. treatment of structural heart valve defects). In addition to the possibility of ventilation and dialysis, minimally invasive mechanical cardiovascular support can be performed and patients can be treated with the heart-lung machine.

Cardiac catheterization laboratory - Grosshadern Campus

The cardiac catheterization laboratory is to a certain extent the heart of invasive cardiology. This is where the coronary arteries are visualized (coronary angiography) and any constrictions can be treated directly by implanting a stent - either as part of planned interventions or in an emergency for patients with an acute heart attack. Furthermore, right heart catheter examinations to investigate high pressure in the pulmonary circulation, all electrophysiological interventions (ablations) and heart valve interventions, e.g. mitral and tricuspid valve clipping and aortic valve replacement (TAVI), can be performed here.
