Institute for Clinical Pharmacology
Dear Patients, dear Colleagues, dear Visitors,
Welcome to the website of the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology at LMU University Hospital.
Our institute brings together a young, dynamic, and highly motivated team of medical students, doctoral researchers from the natural sciences, technical assistants, postdoctoral fellows, and clinician scientists. United by a shared enthusiasm, we work collaboratively on the drug therapies of today and tomorrow.
Clinically, we address all aspects of pharmacotherapy and work closely with colleagues involved in direct patient care to promote safer and more effective drug treatment. We are pleased to accept consultative requests. Please note, however, that we provide pharmacotherapeutic advice exclusively to treating physicians and are unable to respond directly to patient inquiries regarding their individual drug therapy.
Our institute has a strong scientific focus. A central area of our research is the immune system, aiming to better understand its role in human disease and to develop novel immunotherapies for the treatment of infectious diseases and cancer. Our therapeutic focus includes antibody-based and cellular therapies. Many of our findings are also directly relevant to immunization strategies, for example in the prevention of infectious diseases.
The institute is structured into five research groups with distinct scientific focuses. I warmly invite you to learn more about these groups here:
Immunopharmacology (Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kobold)
Intracellular Immunity (Prof. Dr. Simon Rothenfußer)
Cancer Vaccine Lab (PD Dr. Lars König and Prof. Max Schnurr)
Immunoregulation (Prof. Dr. David Anz)
Immunomodulation (Prof. Dr. Carolin Daniel)
I wish you an informative and engaging visit to our website. Should you have any questions or inquiries, we are happy to assist you. We also welcome unsolicited applications and collaboration requests and encourage you to contact the respective representatives of our research groups directly.
We are excited about the breath-taking advances in immunotherapy of tumors, of infectious and of autoimmune diseases in recent years. It is fulfilling to participate and in some ways to contribute to this exciting journey. We look forward to work together with you in joint projects – be it as a collaboration partner, a student of our University or even as a prospective member of our Institute.
With kind regards,
Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Sebastian Kobold
