Primary aldosteronism is nowadays widely recognised as the most frequent endocrine cause of secondary arterial hypertension. The core aim of the Pathophysiology of Primary Aldosteronism (PAPA) ERC Advanced Grant is to obtain improved insights into the humoral and molecular mechanisms underlying aldosterone excess and hypertension in primary aldosteronism, with a view to identifying novel therapeutic targets of potential clinical interest.

This project has received successful funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 694913 in the years 2017 - 2022.
